Meet Olivia Macaron's Pastry Chef, Carli!

On International Women’s Day (and every other day!), we want to celebrate the women who make this woman-owned business such a success. At every level of our staff, we are proud of these women’s accomplishments and can’t wait to see what delicious things they have in store!

And our pastry chef Carli deserves a special mention – because she’s too modest to say it herself! We’re always amazed at the handmade creations that come out of her kitchen. Carli has focused on bringing new and exciting flavors and shapes to Olivia Macaron: while playing in the kitchen, she created the immensely popular unicorn macarons and flavors like Cookies ‘n Cream. She’s truly taken what was special about the traditional French macaron and given it a fun, chic flair that’s all her own.

Carli found her love for baking at a young age with the guidance of Clay Doubleday, instructor of the Culinary Academy at Chantilly High school. Carli took many classes and jobs in the food industry to deepen her knowledge leading up to College. She graduated from the renowned Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York in 2012. From there, it was the love for all things pastry that led Carli across the country to work in San Francisco at B. Patisserie, a modern French bakery.

After some time on the West Coast, she decided to return to her hometown – and she found her place on the Olivia Macaron team.

We couldn’t be happier to have Carli and are SO excited to see what she comes up with next. At Olivia Macaron, we really support our team’s creative drives because we believe that our creativity and ingenuity will keep making our jobs fun and delicious – and Carli really takes it to heart. Cat macarons? Galaxy macarons? The sky’s the limit!
