As the weather is changing and we're officially entering fall, our team at Olivia Macaron has been busy working on our seasonal flavors to make them ready in time for this cozy fall season. Our newest four flavors are now available for online ordering and in-store at both the Georgetown and Tysons Corner locations.
Other than the new exciting flavors we just made available, we just want to share what we had been working on lately this past month that brought our customers, friends, families, and community together!
LEBANON RELIEF FUND
Olivia Macaron joined the Beitna Fundraiser established by Chef Marcelle of Maydan DC & Compass Rose and Chef Roro to help raise funds to help those affected by the tragic explosions in Beirut, Lebanon on August 4, 2020. More than 35 restaurants in Washington, DC quickly came together and joined this local fundraiser. Together, we raised $50,000 to support various Lebanese organizations.
We created the Lebanon Relief Gift Box featuring the colors of the Lebanese flag using some of our most popular signature flavors: Red Velvet, Vanilla Bean and Pistachio. All of our proceeds were directly donated to the Lebanese Red Cross and Impact Lebanon after our 3-day online fundraiser. We're so touched by the support from our customers who helped share this fundraiser virtually and make the purchase to support our cause!
WOMEN'S EQUALITY DAY
To celebrate Women's Equality Day on August 26, 2020, the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote, we asked our macaron-lover community to vote on their favorite Olivia Macaron flavor and the results are in!

VIRTUAL BACK TO SCHOOL SCAVENGER HUNT
As we wrapped up the end of summer, we hosted our first-ever Virtual Scavenger Hunt to bring friends, families, and our fans together before they all head back to school. Our family-friendly Back to Wizarding School online event was held on a Sunday afternoon—all through social media. Participants of all ages—kids, college students, and parents—worked together at home to solve over 10 clues in order to win our secret prizes.
The Virtual Scavenger Hunt kicked off with participants discovering the House they belonged to based on the color they got from biting into our Sorting Mac. Each clue was given to each participant on Instagram and Facebook over the course of 2.5 hours. Two winners were chosen by the fastest time to complete our scavenger hunt and the most creative wizard with the highest points. We all had a blast dressing up in our house colors, choosing a pet to bring to wizarding school, and solving various riddles using both logic and magic!
We're so happy to be able to host such a fun, interactive event for our macaron lovers before they all head back to school. We look forward to hosting a 2nd annual back to wizarding school scavenger hunt again in 2021!
