At Olivia Macaron, we work with the motto that it’s “Fun to play with food” – especially if that food is delicious puffs of gluten-free meringue and cream! We love playing in the kitchen and dreaming up new and exciting flavors to fill our French macarons. Sometimes, we even surprise ourselves with the delicious results.
The election is over, and Inauguration Day is finally almost here. And with the city getting ready, it’s quite a time to be a woman-owned small business in our nation’s capital, Washington DC! Having been voted DC’s best macaron, we like to show off our hometown pride and love at every chance – and we do it the only way we know how: with MACARONS!
Every year, Washington City Paper’s readers pick their favorite local shops, restaurants, and all around DC things – and this, year, they chose us! We’re very excited to be voted Washington, DC’s Best French Macaron! Although our macarons can be shipped nationwide, our home is in Georgetown, DC, and we’re honored that our neighbors have recognized our macarons as some of the best they’ve tried! And now, the hard work starts: we’ll keep perfecting the art of the French macaron so that you can enjoy them for years to come!
Is it really fall without a whole lot of pumpkin spice treats? During autumn, everyone’s favorite seasonal dessert flavor was popping up all over the District, including in our own Georgetown and Tysons Corner macaron shops! Our version of the fall fave includes a rich pumpkin spice buttercream between two bright orange meringue shells – bringing together a traditional French pastry and a classic American flavor. And after reading this list, we’re sure we’re in great company!
